The Institute of Economic Growth, is an autonomous body and civil service training institute under the Government of India, founded in 1952 by the renowned economist, V.K.R.V Rao, for advanced research on economic and social development. It is widely regarded as a centre of excellence in the field.

Beyond the Classroom conducted it's very first visit of the session 2019-2020 to the Institute of Economic Growth (IEG) North Campus, Delhi on 11 September 2019. IEG is also known as the green building. The students met two professors of this eminent institution- Director Ajit Mishra and Professor Amita Baviskar and had a very interactive and intellectual session with them.
Professor Amita Mishra told the students that this institution provides training to the trainee officers of Indian Economic Services (IES). He discussed about the current issues like "slowdown of automobile sector" . Professor Amrita Baviskar expressed her views on how economics can be used as a tool to protect environment.
